Yamahoko Map (Latter Festival) of Gion Matsuri
Yamahoko Map (Latter Festival) uses Google Maps to show the location of the floats. Yamahoko (Yamaboko) floats are located in the area bounded by Karasuma-dori (east-west), Shinmachi-dori (east-west), Sanjo-dori (north-south), and Ayanokoji-dori (north-south). Assembly of the floats begins on July 18th and is completed two to three days later, with Latter Festival (Ato Matsuri) Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession) taking place on July 24th. Dismantling of the floats begins immediately after the Yamahoko Junko is completed. Yamahoko (Yamaboko) can only be seen for about a week.

Yamaboko floats are assembled on the road.
★The nearest stations are Shijo Station on the subway Karasuma Line and Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, and the nearest bus stop is Shijo Karasuma.

【Kitakannon Yama (北観音山) on Shinmachi-dori】
●location: Kitakannon Yama is located on Shinmachi-dori, about 70 meters north of the intersection of Shinmachi-dori (north-south) and Takoyakushi-dori (east-west).
●Kitakannon Yama is marked by a pine tree reaching into the sky. Pine tree is selected by lot drawing along with Minamikannon Yama. Kitakannon Yama is about 17.00 meters high, 6.36 meters long, 3.95 meters wide, 9.27 tons in weight, and has a minimum turning radius of 6.10 meters. (2008 Data) Kitakannon Yama enshrines Yoryu Kannon (a merciful goddess) and Idaten (a guardian deity). Kitakannon Yama is always the 2nd or 6th in the Latter Festival Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession).
Kitakannon Yama (北観音山)
【Minamikannon Yama (南観音山) on Shinmachi-dori】
●location: Minamikannon Yama is located on Shinmachi-dori, about 80 meters south of the intersection of Shinmachi-dori (north-south) and Takoyakushi-dori (east-west).
●Minamikannon Yama is marked by a pine tree reaching into the sky. Pine tree is selected by lot drawing along with Kitakannon Yama. Minamikannon Yama Yama is about 17.24 meters high, 6.55 meters long, 4.45 meters wide, 9.54 tons in weight, and has a minimum turning radius of 5.90 meters. (2008 Data) Minamikannon Yama enshrines Yoryu Kannon (a merciful goddess) and Zenzai Doji. Minamikannon Yama will hold Abare Kannon on July 23. Minamikannon Yama is always the 2nd or 6th in the Latter Festival Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession).
Minamikannon Yama (南観音山)
【Ofune Hoko (Ohfune Boko,大船鉾) on Shinmachi-dori】
●location: Ofune Hoko Yama is located on Shinmachi-dori, about 60 meters south of the intersection of Shinmachi-dori (north-south) and Shijo-dori (east-west).
●Ofune Hoko is shaped like a ship. Ofune Hoko and Fune Hoko are the only floats shaped like ship. Ofune Hoko is about 6.35 meters high, 7.47 meters long, 3.25 meters wide, and has a minimum turning radius of 5.29 meters. In 2014, Ofune Hoko returned to Latter Festival (Ato Matsuri) Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession) for the first time in 150 years. Ofune Hoko is always the 11th in the Latter Festival Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession).

【Hashibenkei Yama (橋弁慶山) on Takoyakushi-dori】
●location: Hashibenkei Yama is located on Takoyakushi-dori, about 40 meters west of the intersection of Karasuma-dori (north-south) and Takoyakushi-dori (east-west).
●There is no pine tree stretching into the sky to be seen on Hashibenkei Yama. Hashibenkei Yama weighs about 0.80 tons. (2008 Data) Hashibenkei Yama originates from the battle between Benkei and Ushiwakamaru at Gojo Bridge. Benkei is in armor and holds a large long sword. Ushiwakamaru is standing on the bridge’s pseudo-pearl, his right foot is sprung backward, and he is holding a sword in his right hand. Hashibenkei Yama always leads the procession in Latter Festival Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession).

【Koi Yama (鯉山) on Muromachi-dori】
●location: Koi Yama is located on Muromachi-dori, about 50 meters north of the intersection of Muromachi-dori (north-south) and Takoyakushi-dori (east-west).
●Koi Yama is marked by a pine tree reaching into the sky. Koi Yama weighs about 0.81 tons. (2008 Data) Koi Yama wishes for a successful career. Koi Yama is a shrine where the deity is a carp. The carp is about 1.5 meters long and represents unrestrained bravery in climbing up the waterfall.

●There is no pine tree stretching into the sky to be seen on Jomyo Yama. Jomyo Yama weighs about 0.78 tons. (2008 Data) Jomyo Yama originated from the first battle of the Uji-gawa River. There are two figure, one of which is shown jumping over the head of the other.

The roof is about 1.5 meters high, 4.9 meters long, and 4.3 meters wide. In 2022, Taka Yama returned to Latter Festival (Ato Matsuri) Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession) for the first time about 190 years. Taka Yama is always the 10th in the Latter Festival Yamahoko-Junko (Float Procession).
